The Baby Room CPD: Tummy Time and Play Diet Awareness workshop for professionals working in and supporting infants in nurseries and childcare settings, as well as Nannies and Childminders working in baby's homes. Those working in these areas have a vital role in supporting the developing brains and bodies of infants in their care, and for those looking at this CPD, this is testament to caring deeply about little ones and their future outcomes.
This Baby Room CPD is an invitation to reflect upon your current Tummy Time and Play Diet practices within your settings. It is an opportunity to use and infuse your new insights from the workshop into the day to day activities of babies in your care with a deeper understanding of how important your role is in supporting infants through movement, "just right" sensory experiences and positions for play that will have life long impact.
Too often Tummy time and the need for a varied play diet is misunderstood when it comes to young babies. Yet this important position for play, amongst a variety of positions literally supports brain architecture whilst developing and strengthening lifelong skills. This workshop has been designed to provide both theory based evidence as well as practical insights and easily implemented tools and ideas to use in your settings (provided baby is not contraindicated to do so) whilst debunking common misconceptions.
You will be guided by Carly, a Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist (find out more about her HERE) with years of experience working with babies in the NHS and Independent Sector, in this prerecorded 75 min workshop. You can study in your own time, and have lifetime access to the content. Upon completion there is also the option to upgrade to further qualifications with Carly, such as Tummy Time Play Practitioner and/or Infant Developmental Play Practitioner, should you wish to extend your learning further.
