Skills developed through Tummy Time as part of a varied play diet can support an infant through childhood and beyond, with research time and time again showing that it improves many developmental outcomes. Yet, so often Tummy Time is misunderstood, and because of this it seems that babies dislike this important position for play, causing stress and worry to parents, and often giving up.
However Tummy Time is not all as it seem, often parents ARE giving opportunities of this play position, but in more subtle ways. Once they understand this, and how to build from there, the experience is completely different. You can be a part of this journey, and in turn help to improve infant outcomes!

Training as a Tummy Time Play Practitioner via this course will give you the confidence and know-how of this important position for play, with a focus on parent-baby connection via playful interaction, movement and sensory play. I have received 100% positive feedback on the training, and I am yet to find a Tummy Time Practitioner who hasn't been able to support a family in happily bringing this position for play into their daily lives in a variety ways. My practitioners embed their knowledge into their services as well as create whole courses, workshops and 1-1s Tummy Time and Sensory Play.

Who is this Practitioners course for?

This bespoke course is ideal for Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and other AHPs working in the field of Paediatrics, or Perinatal services, as well as Health Visitors, Midwives and Doulas, Osteopaths and Chiropractors who wish to continue their professional development and extend their knowledge around Tummy Time as a position for play including sensory based baby play. It is also suitable for Early years Practitioners and Parent and Baby Wellbeing Practitioners.

The knowledge gained through completing this Advanced Practitioners Course will enable you to become a Tummy Time Practitioner™, and add value and impact to your services for the local community in which you serve.
As a Paed OT, by doing this training, I’ve learned a lot more about specific tummy time adaptions and considerations for babies with specific conditions that I was not fully aware of previously, thus I’ve found this training to be incredibly helpful for my current role.
In addition, I feel that having a really sound knowledge of different tummy time positions to suit different babies needs and abilities is really important for undertaking this type of work, so this training has also been a good reminder to me to model and share a range of these different positions with families to find what works best for them.

How to Study?
​
This course will enable you to continue your professional development, whilst spreading the importance of Tummy Time as a position for play with support from the Go To Expert for Tummy Time, Carly Budd.
​
This course is the equivalent of a full day training, with the added bonus of ongoing support and access to Carly Budd through the Facebook Student Forum. There is no time limit to complete this course, and you receive lifetime access to the content.
​
You will complete four in depth modules so that you can learn, understand and apply the theory and practical knowledge and skills with the families you support. Included is a module on professionalism, social justice, business basics and marketing. At the end of each module you will be expected to complete a multiple choice end of module assessment. There is a requirement to complete and submit a short practical video for assessment purposes, as well as one short written assessment. Once completed, you will receive a certificate of completion and with the correct insurance, you will be able to practice as a Tummy Time Play Practitioner™*
